RCMP Foundation GOLDEN SPUR AWARD

The RCMP Foundation Golden Spur Award is awarded to four RCMP members, one from each region, who have shown outstanding commitment to improving the quality of life for the youth and general population of communities where they work.

The awards are presented annually at the RCMP Foundation Gala Dinner held in Toronto.

The award recipients are nominated by the community groups they work with or by their peers to show support for the good works they do in their community. The deadline for 2010 Nominations is August 5, 2010 with the recipients being notified by August 31, 2010 .

Potential candidates must meet the following requirements:

1. They have applied for funding from the Foundation
2. They play an active role in community development
3. They are an employee of the RCMP (Member, Civilian Member or Public Servant) or volunteer.
4. A reference from a community group must be provided. In 250 words or less the community group must show continual involvement with the employee. This must justify why this person has been nominated.
5. Those selected will be required to submit photographs and if possible video footage of their work in the community, to be showcased at the event. Further details will be provided to the successful candidates

PRIX DE L’ÉPERON D’OR DE LA FONDATION DE LA GRC

Le Prix de l’éperon d’or de la Fondation de la GRC est remis à quatre membres, un de chaque région, qui ont fait preuve d’un engagement remarquable pour améliorer la qualité de vie des jeunes et du grand public des collectivités où ils travaillent.

Les prix sont présentés chaque année au dîner de gala de la Fondation de la GRC à Toronto.

Les groupes communautaires avec qui ils travaillent ou leurs pairs présentent la candidature des membres pour montrer qu’ils soutiennent le bon travail accompli dans la collectivité. Le délai des mises en candidature est le 5 août 2010 et les gagnants seront informés le 31 août 2010.

Les candidats éventuels doivent répondre aux exigences suivantes :

1. Ils ont demandé des fonds à la Fondation.
2. Ils sont actifs en développement communautaire.
3. Ils sont employés à la GRC (membres, civils ou fonctionnaires) ou bénévoles.
4. Un groupe communautaire doit donner une référence. Le groupe communautaire doit décrire en 250 mots ou moins l’engagement continu avec l’employé. Il doit expliquer pourquoi cette personne est candidate.
5. Ceux qui sont sélectionnés devront remettre des photographies et, si possible, une bande vidéo de leur travail dans la collectivité qui sera présentée pendant l’événement. Les candidats choisis obtiendront d’autres détails.
